Learn how to stretch your quadriceps properly by watching the video below. Tight quads can tilt your pelvis out of alignment and cause you lower back and knee pain. This can put you at risk of injury. Many patients ask me how to get pain relief through stretching at home.

Watch this 1-Minute Video to learn how to stretch your quads properly and get relief. You are going to like this. It feels really good.
I recommend that you hold onto a wall, door, or chair for balance. Using an object for balance will allow you to focus on stretching your muscles properly with less risk of injury.
Quadriceps Muscle Action
The quadriceps are four large muscles in the front of your thigh that connect your knee to your hip. The main actions of your quadriceps muscles are to extend your knee, and to flex or raise your hip. This is involved when you run, climb stairs, and squat. Your quads play a major role in proper lifting along with your hamstrings and buttock muscles. Click here to see a Quadriceps Strengthening Exercise at WebMD.
Quadriceps Stretch Alleviates Back and Knee Pain
If you stretch your quads gently on a regular basis you will have less pain in your back, legs, knees, and hips. You will also improve your alignment and posture and will be less likely to pull a muscle. I recommend you do this stretch after sitting for long periods, before and after your work-outs, or while you watch TV. If you need any help with how to do this stretch properly call my office.
