Massage Therapy with Chiropractic Treatment for Relief

To better understand the basics, chiropractic care assists your body to restore alignment of the spine and other joints. This is achieved by manipulation of the joint focusing on problems in the back, neck and extremities.  Massage therapy focuses on soft tissue work, including muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia.  This soft tissue work increases healing, range of motion and the feeling of well being.

Since Chiropractic works on the joints and massage works on the soft tissue, the two modalities are complementary.  Your muscles have a memory, and after an adjustment is made, the joint seeks to retain that misalignment. By coordinating soft tissue work from a deep tissue or Swedish massage, with an adjustment, it can aid in retraining the muscles to hold the adjustment.  Massage therapy softens the muscles and attached tendons which allows the body to conform to the new alignment.  Therefore the combination of care is often times more beneficial than one service alone.
