Frozen Shoulder Signs

Have you heard the term frozen shoulder? You may have heard it from your doctor or a friend. It is no wonder, as shoulder injuries seem to be becoming more and more common. Shoulder conditions are probably the most common extremity injury we see in our Hanover office. One type of shoulder injury is known as a Frozen Shoulder or Adhesive Capsulitis. If you can’t lift your arm fully above your head, and have pain, then you likely have this condition and need proper treatment.

Frozen Shoulder & Scar Tissue

Frozen shoulder is when you develop scar tissue or adhesions in your shoulder joint capsule that causes pain and restricts your motion. It can come on gradually or all at once. You could develop frozen shoulder after an injury or surgery that heals wrong or after repetitive overuse. Without proper treatment it can progress to the point that you can’t use your arm at all.
